Bombay Velvet is an upcoming
Hindi crime drama film directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap , story based
on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables. Ranbir Kapoor , Anushka Sharma
and Karan Johar in the leading role , Mohit Chauhan will provide the male voice
for songs in this film.
The film was initially to be
produced by Viacom 18 but Fox Star Studios co-produced it with Phantom Films.This
movie is based on Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables and set in early 1950’s to
1970’s before Mumbai became a city. Parakash is one of the scriptwriter for the
film.
Ranbir Kapoor will act a role of
street fighter , whilst Anushka Sharma will appear as a jazz singer , as well
as his love interest in the film Director Karan Johar will make his acting
debut on this film . On Karan’s acting Vikas Bahl said that “ I think there is
a beautiful actor hidden in Karan. I’m sure he will make the character bigger
than the actor . Ranbir said that “There is no process in selecting the kind of
work I do. I feel very lucky to be
working with one of the best filmmakers in the history of Bollywood industry .The
first trailer of "Bombay Velvet" was
released on 28th January 2015.The film will be released in two
versions , one for Indian audience and other for an international release for
Oscar Awards Nominations .The film release on 15 May 2015 in all over the world.
